Carmel PorchFest Inc. Grant Program
Carmel PorchFest Inc. creates Grant Program for aspiring local Musicians
Carmel PorchFest (CPF), now celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, is a free, family-friendly event with a variety of local musical acts performing live on neighborhood porches. Carmel PorchFest was started in 2014 to promote the Arts & Design District homes,as well as highlighting local musicians. We also run the community’s favorite block party, Late Night on Main hosting three to four concerts per season.
Carmel PorchFest Inc. is run by a Board of Directors, along with a committee of Carmel volunteers and business owners. The events are supported by local Sponsors and Donors, who make the events possible. As CPF continues to grow, our board and sponsors wanted to extend our reach to young, aspiring musicians in the community.
The Carmel PorchFest Grant Program has been created to provide financial support for up-and-coming musicians in the form of grants to cover such items as new instruments, lessons, schooling, musical opportunities, etc. in exchange for volunteer hours. Once a student volunteers four hours at Carmel PorchFest, Inc. events, you will become eligible to apply for the grant.
Students 6 – 18 years of age can apply for financial assistance in return for volunteering time at our events held throughout the year. Students age 13 and below will need a parent or guardian to volunteer with them.
How to Apply: To apply for a Carmel PorchFest, Inc. grant, visit our Grant Program page or sign up here. Then sign up to volunteer at a Carmel PorchFest, Inc. event on our website’s Volunteer page. We plan to award grants twice a year. Applications for Fall Scholarships are due by midnight on November 30 and applications for Spring Scholarships are due by midnight on May 30.
After the student volunteers, the Board and Committee will review all applications. We will then follow up and notify all grant winners.
Carmel PorchFest awarded it’s first three music grants last weekend at Holiday PorchFest. These three deserving students applied for the Carmel PorchFest Grant Program and volunteered at CPF events for four hours each. Each student plans to use the money to help with their musical aspirations. We hope we can continue to help the youth in our community who are interested in music, as it is our mission to promote the value of music.
